The heater core is the part of your vehicle that warms the air that the A/C system then pumps into the cabin. This serves many purposes, including keeping the ambient temperature comfortable, as well as defrosting and defogging the windshield and windows in cooler weather.
Similarly to how a radiator works, the heater core of your car works by warming up coolant and using a small but powerful fan to get hot air into the cabin. The heater core is usually inside the dash assembly of your car, typically near the centre, which means to gain access to it other parts usually have to be removed.
